HackerHub8 — Community Rules

Welcome to the HackerHub8 community. We are a fast-growing, multi-platform cybersecurity community — active across Discord, Instagram (1.5 lakh+ members), Telegram, WhatsApp groups and other forums. These rules apply to all HackerHub8 official spaces and to events or collaborations organized by HackerHub8 (online or offline). They are designed to keep our community safe, educational, and professional.

Before posting or interacting, please read the rules below carefully. Following them helps protect you, other members, our partner organizations, and the reputation of HackerHub8.

1. Respect and Professionalism

• Treat all members with respect regardless of experience, background, identity, or viewpoint.
• Constructive criticism is welcome — personal attacks, insults, slurs or hate speech are prohibited.
• Be mindful in direct messages (DMs). Do not DM people repeatedly or send unsolicited demands for mentorship/jobs.

2. No Illegal or Unethical Activity

• All activity that violates local, national, or international law is strictly forbidden.
• Do not request, share, or assist with live exploits, stolen data, malware, phishing templates, or instructions for unauthorised access.
• All technical discussion must be framed as ethical, legal, educational or defensive. When discussing attacks, use lab-only examples and clearly mark them as such.

3. Platform-specific Rules & Application

The same core rules apply across our platforms — but moderators may enforce platform-specific rules to match each channel's purpose.

• Discord: Use channel-specific threads correctly (e.g., #tools, #jobs, #help). No unsolicited recruitment DMing from server members. Follow pinned channel rules.
• Instagram: Keep comments professional and relevant. Do not spam DMs with offers/promotions. Tag responsibly and avoid sharing personal data in public posts.
• Telegram / WhatsApp: These are high-volume chat platforms — avoid flooding, chain messages, broadcast spam, or mass-forwarding. Use threads or reply features for clarity.
• Events / Live Sessions: Respect hosts and guests. Do not stream or record sessions without explicit permission.

4. Content Sharing, Attribution & Intellectual Property

• Share only original work or content you have rights to. Always credit the author/source.
• Do not repost copyrighted materials without permission. For code snippets, indicate the license or source.
• If you publish project deliverables that reference client work (even sanitized), obtain written client consent before sharing publicly.

5. Privacy & Data Protection

• Never share personally identifiable information (PII) of others without explicit consent (emails, phone numbers, addresses, screenshots of private chats).
• If you must share logs or data for troubleshooting, redact sensitive fields and get permission from the data owner.
• All user data is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

6. Responsible Use of Tools & Labs

• Tools, exploits, lab recipes and guides are for educational/lab use only. Do not use them on third-party or production systems unless you have written authorization.
• On PlayCTF (playctf.in), do not share flags, solutions, or writeups for active challenges or events — this is treated as cheating and may result in suspension.
• If you share a lab or VM image, ensure it is safe (no hidden malware) and include clear usage instructions and safety disclaimers.
• Moderators may remove tool-links that appear unsafe or are commonly abused.

7. Spam, Promotions & Collaboration Rules

• No unsolicited advertising, affiliate links, or mass self-promotion across channels.
• Relevant self-promotion (projects, research, blog posts) is allowed when labeled and when it adds clear value — prefer pinned weekly threads or member-showcase channels.
• Collaboration / Partnership Rule: Any collaboration with HackerHub8 (co-hosted events, paid partnerships, sponsored content, or ambassador programs) must be approved by official HackerHub8 admin. Contact support@hackerhub8.in with a proposal; do not present third-party offers directly in public channels.
• Paid recruiters or companies seeking hiring access should use official partnership channels; repeated cold outreach to members is prohibited.

8. Event, Workshop & Live Session Conduct

• Be punctual, follow host instructions, and avoid disruptive behavior during live events.
• Recording or redistributing event content requires explicit permission from speakers and HackerHub8.
• Speakers and volunteers should follow our speaker code of conduct — no hate speech, no political campaigning, and no unethical demonstrations.

9. Reporting Violations & Safety

• If you see rule violations, report them to moderators/admins (use Discord's report feature, DM admins, or email support@hackerhub8.in).
• Reports are handled confidentially. Do not publicly call out or harass accused members — let moderators investigate.
• False or malicious reporting is itself a violation and may result in penalties.

10. Enforcement & Penalties

• Consequences for violations include warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent ban depending on severity and frequency.
• Serious legal violations (unauthorized access, data theft, threats) will be escalated and may involve law enforcement.
• Moderators' decisions are final; appeals can be sent to support@hackerhub8.in with evidence.

11. Moderator & Admin Guidelines

• Moderators act to preserve safety, legality, and learning outcomes. They may remove posts, mute users, or close threads as needed.
• Admins should document significant moderation actions (reason, timestamps) and avoid arbitrary enforcement.
• If you are interested in moderating, apply via the official form or contact admins — moderator roles are granted by invite only.

12. Ambassador, Volunteer & Community Programs

• Ambassadors/volunteers must follow the same rules and represent HackerHub8 professionally.
• Ambassador activities (events, promos) must be pre-approved and any incentives disclosed transparently.
• Ambassador recruitment, selection criteria, and privileges will be announced in official channels.

13. Collaboration & Partnership Rules (Summary)

• All collaborations (paid or unpaid) require an internal approval and a written agreement (MoU or contract) signed by HackerHub8.
• Co-branded events must include clear roles, deliverables, intellectual property terms, and data-handling clauses.
• External partners must comply with HackerHub8's code of conduct and privacy standards; non-compliant partners will be removed.

14. Changes to Rules

We may update these rules to adapt to community growth or legal requirements. Major updates will be announced in pinned posts across platforms. Continued participation after updates indicates acceptance.
